Jean-Marie Bertin

Co-founder

Jean-Marie is the co-founder and lead business developer of Volarma. Jean-Marie has vast experience in financial markets and his career already spans three decades. Previously He has worked in many well-known institutions such as banks (Fortisbank, Nordea, Bank of America), investment management firms (BrevanHoward, Swedbank Robur), market makers (Natixis, BNPParibas/Fortis, Swedbank) where he has worked as a proprietary trader, market maker, or a portfolio manager. Jean-Marie has also been active as a financial/risk consultant to firms such as Highlander Uptown and Downtown, Laven, and AJAMAB Finans. Jean-Marie’s especial focus throughout his long career has been volatility and options trading. Jean-Marie has a master’s degree in international finance from EDHEC Lille and an undergraduate degree in civil engineering from EUDIL Lille. He is also a certified investment advisor from SWEDSEC.

Pouya Azimi, CFA

Co-founder

Pouya is the co-founder and the head developer of Volarma. Pouya is also active as the Head of Risk at Laven Group where he is responsible for monitoring and managing Laven’s investment management platform's portfolios with a current AUM of more than one billion dollars. Before becoming the Head of Risk, Pouya previously worked as an investment due diligence and risk analyst and was in charge of assessing different funds strategies and performance track records. Before joining Laven in 2015, Pouya worked as a quantitative researcher at OSSIAM Inc. (a Natixis affiliate) in Paris where he assisted with backtesting and optimisation of equity portfolios. Pouya has a background in engineering as well as financial modelling across a wide range of strategies. He holds a master’s degree in international finance from HEC Paris and is a graduate engineer from the University of Toronto. Pouya is a CFA charter holder.
